X5 Retail Group plans to deepen relationship with Express retail

Russia-based X5 Retail Group is planning to closely co-operate with the company Express Retail, in which X5 holds a 40% stake. Express Retail’s franchisee will be supplied in some product categories by X5’s distribution centres, which will lead price reductions of up to 15%. Additionally, the product assortment and store layout will be changed which will result in higher turnover. Express Retail also operates a network of franchised Perekrestok Express convenience stores. However, these stores are run in the form of hard franchising.
