X5 plans to open 90 new A5 pharmacies

X5 Retail Group has opened 77 A5 pharmacies in its Pyaterochka and Perekrestok stores in the Moscow region. The total sales area for the stores amounts to 3,500 square metres. The retailer announced there are another 90 contracts set to be signed soon. X5 plans to introduce A5 pharmacies into its Karusel hypermarkets as well as in regions. X5 Retail entered a partnership deal with A5 Pharmacy Chain in December 2008, with a call option to take over the company.
