The Body Shop sees sales decline in Q3
The Body Shop has reported a year-on-year sales decline of 8% to EUR162.2 million (USD236 million) for its third quarter results ended September. Like-for-like sales were down 4.1%. The group reported that total retail sales to consumers for the first nine months of the year was flat at 0% compared to the same period of 2008. The Body Shop said this reflects the brand’s resilience, particularly in the developed countries. It said Australia, India and Indonesia are “particularly dynamic” for the retailer. The retailer said it is continuing its innovation strategy with the launch of its first organic skincare range, Nutriganics and its fragrance, Love etc.
