Tesco and Unilever team up to create perfect convenience store
Tesco and consumer goods company Unilever have joined forces to create the perfect convenience store. The Financial Times reported that the two have re-arranged the food-to-go aisles across 1,500 Tesco Express stores and are now looking into other areas that could be improved. The move is part of a two year research project into the ‘ideal store’ carried out by Unilever. The ideal stores were initially constructed using computer simulations, before being tested at a Co-op outlet in 2007. Sales increased 9% at the store during the first few weeks.
