Metro Group plans to open three Real hypermarkets in Rostov region

Metro Group-owned Real plans to open three hypermarkets in Russia’s Rostov region. The first will be located near the Horizon shopping centre, will have a sales area of 20,000 square metres and will be opened in October 2009. Total investments will amount to USD139.5 million. The company is interested in strengthening its presence in the Rostov region, as the local retail market is still rather far from saturation and possesses good potential for development, according to Elena Asanov, Head of Real’s public relations department.
