Euroset store network grows to over 5,000

Russian mobile phone retailer Euroset added 1,000 stores in 2011 to hit an all-time high of 5,260 outlets. Euroset President Alexander Malis said: “In a year we have managed to add 1,000 new stores while not making a huge capital investment. Part of the stores were acquired, part newly opened. On average one new store opening involved costs of RUB1-1.2 million (USD31,944-38,333), 50% cheaper than previous years.” A portion of the new stores were added after Euroset’s acquisition of the leasing rights of 500 strategic outlets of rival Svyaznoy in mid-2011, followed by the takeover of a further 500 stores of regional retailer Alt Telecom.
